Soulful Sunday

A moon bridge is usually a highly arched pedestrian bridge, which in its wooden form may require the walker to initially climb and also when descending. This moon bridge type is associated with gardens in China and Japan, and is called a drum bridge in Japan. This type of moon bridge was originally designed as a means to allow pedestrians to cross canals while allowing the passage of barges beneath. When constructed using the climbing ascent and descent this had the further advantage of not using space from the adjoining fields for approaches. I would like to give credit to Washington University for helping us photo-snap this serene and amazing Moon’s Bridge.

Understanding is the essence of love.
If you cannot understand, you cannot love....
Without understanding, love is an impossible thing.
What must we do in order to understand a person?
We must have time; we must practice looking deeply
into this person. We must be there, attentive;
we must observe, we must look deeply. And the
fruit of this looking deeply is called understanding.
Love is a true thing if it is made up of a substance
called understanding.

The World Financial Center. This is the tallest building in Shanghai (for now). It has a 101st floor observation deck. An even taller building is going up right beside it though, so it won't be king for long. This photo was taken from the 88th floor of the Jinmao building next door. — at Jinmao Tower.
