Happy Canada Day Weekend

Life.........

A little house to keep
A little floor to sweep
A little meal to make
A little sweet to bake
A little friend to know
A little flower to grow
A little bird to sing
A little hand to cling
A little child's caress
A little life to bless
A little grief and pain
A little cheer again
A little fleeting day
A little prayer to say
A little house to keep
There is no joy so deep.
~Anne Campbell

Happy Canada Day weekend♥

Have a Happy Thursday everyone.

Lessons Of Love

A ninety-one year old woman died
after living a long dignified life.
When she met God, she asked him something
that had long bothered her.
If Man was created in God's image,
and if all men are created equal,
why do people treat each other so badly?
God replied that each person who
enters our life has a unique
lesson to teach us.
And it is only through these
lessons that we learn about life,
people, relationships and God.
This confused the woman, so God began to explain.
When someone lies to you, it
teaches you that things are not
always as they seem. The truth is often far
beneath the surface. Look beyond the masks
people wear if you want to know their heart.
And remove your own masks to let people know yours.
When someone steals from you,
it teaches you that nothing is forever.
Always appreciate what you have,
for you never know when you might lose it.
And never, ever take your friends
and family for granted because today
is the only guarantee you have.
When someone inflicts an injury upon you,
it teaches you that the human state is a fragile one.
Protect and take care of your body
as best you can, it's the only thing
you are sure to have forever.
When someone mocks you,
it teaches you that no two people are alike.
When you encounter people who are
different from you, don't judge
them by how they look or act;
instead base your opinion on the contents of their heart.
When someone breaks your heart,
it teaches you that loving someone
does not always mean that person
will love you back. But don't turn your back
on love because when you find the right person,
the joy that one person brings will
make up for all the past hurts put together.
Times ten. When someone holds a grudge against you,
it teaches you that everyone makes mistakes.
When you are wronged, the most virtuous
thing you can do is forgive the offender without pretense.
Forgiving those who have hurt us is the most difficult,
the most courageous and the noblest thing man can do.
When a loved one is unfaithful to you,
it teaches you that resisting temptation
is man's greatest challenge.
Be vigilant in your resistance against
all temptation. By doing so you will be
rewarded with an enduring sense
of satisfaction far greater
than the temporary pleasure by which you were tempted.
When someone cheats you,
it teaches you that greed is the root of all evil.
Aspire to make your dreams come true,
no matter how lofty they may be.
Do not feel guilty about your success,
but never let an obsession with achieving
your goals lead you to engage in malevolent activities.
When someone ridicules you,
it teaches you that nobody is perfect.
Accept people for their merits and be
tolerant of their flaws.
Do not ever reject someone for
imperfections over which they have no control.
Upon hearing the Lord's wisdom,
the old woman became concerned
that there were no lessons to be learned
from man's good deeds.
God replied that man's capacity to love
is the greatest gift he has.
At the root of all kindness is love,
and each act of love also teaches us a lesson.
The woman's curiosity deepening,
God once again began to explain.
When someone loves us it teaches us that love,
kindness, charity, honesty,
humility, forgiveness and
acceptance can counteract all the evil in the world.
For every good deed, there is one less evil deed.
Man alone has the power to control
the balance between good and evil,
but because the lessons of love
are not taught often enough,
the power is too often abused.
When you enter someone's life,
whether by plan, chance or coincidence,
consider what your lesson will be.
Will you teach love or a harsh lesson of reality?
When you die, will your life
have resulted in more loving or hurting?
More comfort or pain?
More joy or sadness? Each one of
us has power over the balance
of love in the world. Use it wisely.

Happy Monday

Another gorgeous family member..........

It was fun to go to a dear friend's Mom's birthday party on Saturday .
Her Mom had fun and so did we.
Then we visited a few of the ethnic carousels.
Of course we ventured to the Hungarian one for sure.

Summer is fast and fleeting.
Enjoy every golden moment

We all have our time machines.
Some take us back,
they’re called memories.
Some take us forward,
they’re called dreams.

~Jeremy Irons

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter....to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring, these are some of the rewards of the simple life.- John Burroughs
Thank you Justin and Ahram for always taking lots of pictures for me
of our Star Child
We are all truly blessed
with the love of Logan♥

Love is

My late beloved Mother
and my Precious Grandmother on the back porch
Circa 1950's  the home where
I grew up in.
Nostalgia is such a comfort
and wonderful memories makes our hearts
happy♥

Don Draper: Nostalgia - it's delicate, but potent. Teddy told me that in Greek, "nostalgia" literally means "the pain from an old wound." It's a twinge in your heart far more powerful than memory alone. This device isn't a spaceship, it's a time machine. It goes backwards, and forwards... it takes us to a place where we ache to go again. It's not called the wheel, it's called the carousel. It let's us travel the way a child travels - around and around, and back home again, to a place where we know are loved.

Quote I love from the Show Mad Men
The Wheel Episode 2007
spoken by Don Draper on the show

"Love is a force more formidable that any other. It is invisible.. it cannot be seen or measured.. yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment and offer you more joy than any material possession could."

It's a Wonderful World

Thanks Sue for this wonderful link♥

Have a fabulous Tuesday.

Giving back: Some people have the belief that every tree, when it burns, gives back the colours that went into its making, they see in the flaming logs the red of many sunsets, the purple of early dawn, the silver of moonrise and the sparkle of stars. So it is with us: what we have accepted into our hearts and made a permanent part of ourselves is given back in times of trial.. Fulton J. Sheen

Lucky Logan is showered in love and lots of gifts galore.
Truly blessed are we with Thee♥

"If" for New Grandparents

If you can't seem to keep yourself from grinning
and feel as if you are floating on thin air,
If you see this as only the beginning
of all the snuggly moments that you will share........

If you're a pro at giving hugs and kisses,
at tickling tummies, squeezing chubby cheeks,
And know just what a great occasion this is
for practicing your "how to spoil" techniques

If you can carry photos by the dozens,
not showing them to people far and near
But only family, friends and distant cousins
and people in the western hemisphere...........

If you can let things slide and never worry,
with chores undone and change in routine,
Remembering babies grow up in a hurry
and how much spending time with them will mean.......

If you can find making memories so appealing
and just cannot wait to hold that little hand,
Then you must have a very special feeling
for what makes having grandchildren so grand.

I've Learned

I''ve learned
That the best classroom in the world is
at the feet of an elderly person.
I've learned....
That when you're in love, it shows.
I've learned....
That just one person saying to me,
"You've made my day!" makes my day.
I've learned....
That having a child fall asleep in your
arms is one of the most peaceful feelings
in the world.
I've learned....
That being kind is more important
than being right.
I've learned ....
That you should never say no to
a gift from a child.
I've learned....
That I can always pray for someone
when I don't have the strength to help
him in some other way.
I've learned....
That no matter how serious your life
requires you to be, everyone needs a
friend to act goofy with.
I've learned....
That sometimes all a person needs is
a hand to hold and a heart to understand.
I've learned....
That simple walks with my father around
the block on summer nights when I was
a child did wonders for me as an adult.
I've learned....
That life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer it gets to the end, the
faster it goes.
I've learned....
That we should be glad God doesn't
give us everything we ask for.
I've learned....
That money doesn't buy class.
I've learned....
That it's those small daily happenings
that make life so spectacular.
I've learned...
That under everyone's hard shell is
someone who wants to be appreciated
and loved.
I've learned....
That to ignore the facts does not
change the facts.
I 've learned....
That when you plan to get even with
someone, you are only letting that person
continue to hurt you.
I've learned....
That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned....
That the easiest way for me to grow
as a person is to surround myself with
people smarter than I am.
I've learned ....
That everyone you meet deserves to
be greeted with a smile.
I've learned....
That no one is perfect until you fall
in love with them.
I've learned....
That life is tough, but I'm tougher.
I've learned....
That opportunities are never lost;
someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned....
That when you harbor bitterness,
happiness will dock elsewhere.
I've learned....
That I wish I could have told my Mom or
Dad that I love her/him one more time
before she passed away.
I've learned....
That one should keep his words both
soft and tender, because tomorrow
he may have to eat them.
I've learned....
That a smile is an inexpensive way to
improve your looks.
I've learned....
That when your newly born grandchild
holds your little finger in his little fist,
that you're hooked for life.
I've learned....
That everyone wants to live on top of the
mountain, but all the happiness and growth
occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned ....
That the less time I have to work with,
the more things I get done.

Quotes I love

Beauty is simply reality seen with the eyes of love.

Other things may change us but we start and end with family

June quote taken from the blog Dear Lillie
