so does my gratitude renew itself daily.
The breaking of the sun over the horizon
is my grateful heart dawning upon a blessed world.

Butterfly populations have been decreasing due to habitat loss, climate change and pesticide use. Butterflies are very important for pollination.
Many species of butterfly require overripe fruit to supplement their diets. Decaying fruits have carbohydrates and minerals that most butterflies need. Help butterflies thrive by doing the following:
Place a large plate or dish outside with another smaller dish within it. Fill the outer larger dish with enough water to keep ants from the smaller dish. Place overripe fruit on the smaller plate cut in sections so they are easy to feed upon. Don't smash the fruit so the butterflies do not become stuck accidentally. Instead simply slice fruit pieces you would otherwise throw out and place them on the smaller plate. It will help the butterflies thrive! It is best to replace the fruit pieces either daily or when the fruit has begun to rot. No longer than a couple of days at a time however.

Today we are remembering Linda McCartney. Linda passed away on April 17, 1998.
Its is rare that two people will find a true "soul mate" in each other. We have heard that Linda and her husband, Paul McCartney only spent 9 nights apart while they were together.
Paul bought us so much joy and happiness through his music and Linda did the same for him.
Linda was only 56 when she passed after a long battle with cancer.
RIP Linda.
17th April 1998 (16 Years ago today)
Lady Linda McCartney sadly passed away at the age of 56 after a three year battle with cancer.
Of their last few days together:
On the afternoon of Weds 15 April 1998, Paul and Linda went for a last desert ride. Paul had to put a hay bale down for Linda to step up on as she climbed carefully into her saddle. As they rode gently along the trails a rattlesnake crossed their path. The sun was setting as they arrived home, just before 7pm, smouldering red over distant Tucson, its last rays streaming through the sentinal cacti. The desert night has a timeless stillness, the stars very bright. When the sun rose on Thursday 16 April, Linda felt too unwell to get up and spent the day in her bed, a gentle breeze blowing through the house. She slipped into a coma. Night again, the last night. The darkest hours come before the dawn. The children told their mother they loved her. She became restless around 3am. Paul got into bed with Linda and told her she was on Blankit; they were riding through the Sussex woods; 'the bluebells are all out, and the sky is clear blue'. By the time he'd finished the story his wife was dead.
