Purrfect Massage

Yesterday I had a fabulous massage as I do each month at my fabulous cousin's shop
Sol Invictus.............

We had a precious zen moment when I came out of my massage the cats were having their own massage........
The baby cat Violet jumped on one of the older cats and started massaging it.
So precious.

Life's purrfect moments

♥.`•.¸.•´ ♥ ♥ Have a great day friends.  on the east coast they are going to have a nasty storm, possibly snow  in Connecticut and high winds along the shore. For all of you that lost power from the hurricane and got it back may lose it again, and there are some who never got it back yet. Say a little prayer for those who lost so much already and now another trial that they are facing (¯`v´¯)

Life is like a train ride

Life is like a train ride, it read. We get on. We ride. We get off. We get back on and ride some more. There are accidents and there are delays. At certain stops there are surprises. Some of these will translate into great moments of joy, some will result in profound sorrow.
When we are born and we first board the train, we meet people whom we think will be with us for the entire journey. Those people are our parents!
Sadly, this is far from the truth. Our parents are with us for as long as we absolutely need them. They too have journeys they must complete. We live on with the memories of their love, affection, friendship, guidance and their ever presence.
There are others who board the train and who eventually become very important to us, in turn.
These people are our brothers, sisters, friends and acquaintances, whom we will learn to love, and cherish.
Some people consider their journey like a jaunty tour. They will just go merrily along .
Others, will encounter many upsets, tears, losses on their journey. Others still, will linger on to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.
Some people on the train will leave an everlasting impression when they get off…. Some will get on and get off the train so quickly, they will scarsely leave a sign that they ever travelled along with you or ever crossed your path…
We will sometimes be upset that some passengers whom we love, will choose to sit in another compartment and leave us to travel on our own. Then again, there’s nothing that says we can’t seek them out anyway.
Nevertheless, once sought out and found, we may not even be able to sit next to them because that seat will already be taken.
That’s okay …everyone’s journey will be filled with hopes, dreams, challenges, setbacks and goodbyes. We must strive to make the best of it… no matter what...
We must constantly strive to understand our travel companions and look for the best in everyone.
Remember that at any moment during our journey, any one of our travel companions can have a weak moment and be in need of our help.
We too may vacilate or hesitate, even trip… hopefully we can count on someone being there to be supportive and understanding…
The bigger mystery of our journey is that we don’t know when our last stop will come. Neither do we know when our travel companions will make their last stop. Not even those sitting in the seat next to us.
Personally, I know I’ll be sad to make my final stop…. I’m sure of it! My separation from all those friends and acquaintances I made during the train ride will be painful. Leaving all those I’m close to will be a sad thing. But then again, I’m certain that one day I’ll get to the main station only to meet up with eveyrone else. They’ll all be carrying their baggage… most of which they didn’t have when they first got on this train.
’ll be glad to see them again. I’ll also be glad to have contributed to their baggage… and to have enriched their lives, just as much as they will have contributed to my baggage and enriched my life.
We’re all on this train ride together. Above all, we should all try to strive to make the ride as pleasant and memorable as we can, right up until we each make the final stop and leave the train for the last time.
All aboard! Safe journey!! BON VOYAGE!

Be A Queen

If your Son treats his wife like a Princess then surely he was raised by a Queen♥

Image from a beautiful Patience Brewster Greeting Card I received

Be A Queen!
Be a queen. Dare to be different.
Be a pioneer. Be a leader.
Be the kind of woman who in the face of adversity
will continue to embrace life and walk fearlessly
toward the challenge.
Take it on! Be a truth seeker and rule your domain,
whatever it is--your home, your office, your family
with a loving heart.

Be a queen. Be tender.
Continue to give birth to new ideas
and rejoice in your womanhood. . .
My prayer is that we will stop wasting time
being mundane and mediocre. . .
We are daughters of God--here to teach
the world how to love. . .
It doesn't matter what you've been through,
where you come from, who your parents are
--nor your social or economic status.

None of that matters.
What matters is how you choose to love,
how you choose to express that love through your work,
through your family,
through what you have to give to the world. . .

Be a queen. Own your power and your glory!

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.

Some people move our souls to dance
and they awaken in us an understanding
with the passing whisper of their wisdom.

Some people make the sky
more beautiful to gaze upon
they stay in our lives for awhile
leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never ever the same.
I believe this was from a Flavia card.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
it turns what we have into enough, and more.
it turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
it can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. "

Rekindle the Joy

And let the celebrations begin.........'Tis the season to be jolly.

An Asian elephant named Koshik has learned to imitate human speech, using his trunk to vocalize five different Korean words.
In a paper published yesterday the researchers describe how Koshik can mimic the words "annyong" ("hello"), "anja" ("sit down"), "aniya" ("no"), "nuo" ("lie down"), and "choah" ("good"). They claim that his skills could provide insights into the evolution and biology of vocal abilities and learning

Update from our beautiful family member Sarah

I have to give myself a huge pat on the back tonight. I had an epiphany during my PT class when I asked my therapist if I could ask for a second opinion regarding the doctor's orders about my clavicle. He said of course!! So as soon as I left class I asked my general doctor for the opinion. He said not a problem. Being Thursday, I didn't expect a response until next week. Well, my nurse just came running in with the news that my restriction has been lifted -COMPLETELY!!!! I can now do transfers into things like my bed and a car! I can also start doing all the classes like weight lifting and wheelchair class! This was a great reminder that this is MY body and it's ok to ask questions if I'm not ok with the first answer... May I become at all times, both now and forever
A protector for those without protection
A guide for those who have lost their way
A ship for those with oceans to cross
A bridge for those with rivers to cross
A sanctuary for those in danger
A lamp for those without light
A place of refuge for those who lack shelter
And a servant to all in need.

Good thoughts for peace in our world, love in our homes, and the spirit of Thanksgiving in our hearts all the days of the year.

And today is All Souls Day
Remembering with love all of our loved ones in Heaven.
Someday we shall meet again and spend eternity forever together.

Paul's dear late Mom's 24 hour salad

Paul's late beloved Mother's recipe of 24 hour salad.
This was one of the delicious dishes we had on Christmas day
with our loved ones.

2 TBSP vinegar
3 egg yolks
2 tsp while sugar
1 tsp. margarine
Pinch of salt
2 cups or more, grapes
2 cups tidbit pineapple (drained)
1 cup manderine oranges (the recipe calls for 2 cups but I put more grapes) (drained)
2 cuple marshmallows ( I used more)
1/2 pt whipping cream (nutriwhip...I used the whole container)

Cook egg yolks, sugar, vinegar, margarine and salt in a double boiler (I used a heavy pan) until thick. Let cool. Cut grapes, pineapple, oranges and marshmallows and mix with above. Fold in whipped cream. Let set 24 hours in refrigerator.

November

Briskly tingling, the days have chilled.
With exhilarating crispness the air is filled.
The barren branches of the oaks
Form lacy networks of roughhewn spokes,
Etched in contrast of bolder hue
Against a sky of deepest blue.

Busily engaged are the fallen leaves
In a lively dance with the autumn breeze.
Noisy flocks of feathered races
Gather to travel to warmer places.
While those of us they leave behind,
Warmth in hot cider and firesides find.
This is the thrill that memory craves
Of refreshingly brisk November days.

November
All freezes again
among the pines,
winds
whispering a prayer.

Riei Eigthteenth Century Japanese Poet

Outside the airplane window the clouds are thick and rippled, unbroken as acres of land. They are suffused with peach-colored, early morning sun, gilded at the edges. Across the aisle, a man is taking a picture of them. Even the pilot couldn’t keep still—“ Folks,” he just said, “we’ve got quite a sunrise out there. Might want to have a look.” I like it when pilots make such comments. It lets me know they’re awake.
Whenever I see a sight like these clouds, I think maybe everyone is wrong; maybe you can walk on air. Maybe we should just try. Everything could have changed without our noticing. Laws of physics, I mean. Why not? I want it to be true that such miracles occur.
I want to stop the plane, put the kickstand down, and have us all file out there, shrugging airline claustrophobia to breathe easily this high up, to walk on clouds as if we were angels, to point out our houses to each other way, way, way down there; and there; and there.
How proud we would suddenly feel about where we live, how tender toward everything that’s ours— our Mixmasters, resting on kitchen counters; our children, wearing the socks we bought them and going about children’s business; our mail lying on our desks; our gardens, tilled and expectant.
It seems to me it would just come with the perspective, this rich appreciation.
